Like the game says, "shut your mouth", know your role and prepare to experience the best WWE game to date!
Of course, with the 3rd Smackdown! game being called ‘Just bring it’, imagine my surprise when my friend informed me that the next Smackdown! game would be subtitled ‘Shut your mouth’. Of course, I didn’t believe him, but it seems that he was right.
I was a little skeptical about another Smackdown! game being released, after ‘Just Bring it’ which I felt was just a repetition of Smackdown! 2 with just improved graphics. Furthermore, the season mode in Smackdown! 3 was just terrible, just 3 or 4 fights, and season over!
Smackdown! Shut Your Mouth boasts the best graphics of all the Smackdown! games thus far! The characters look top notch and smooth. The arenas have definitely been given a makeover, and apart from your standard wrestling arenas for each pay per view, there are loads of other places to fight and these include backstage areas, showers stalls, locker rooms, subway station, the street, WWE New York, and get this – you can even take a subway train to a different part of town, while fighting!
The commentary, although still not perfect, is way better then how it was in the previous installment. Commentary is provided by JR and The King, is pretty decently done.
Create a wrester mode is now more detailed then ever, but the mode that really deserves mention is the improved season mode. The season mode allows you to choose either Smackdown! or Raw, and follows the current WWE storyline pretty closely. A lot of drama in the season mode this time, and not just 2 or 3 fights and season over! The season lasts 2 years this time, and is greatly entertaining.
You can now move around backstage and interact with fellow WWE superstars, and each interactivity will reap different results. Through season mode you can unlock a plethora of stuff, like videos, outfits, arenas and more! Seriously, the season mode is simply amazing!
Furthermore, with more fighting modes like 6-man Hell in a cell and even 3 on 3 tag, for instance, this is easily the best Smackdown! game to date!
