Pure wrestling at heart
When it comes down to it it all comes down to the gameplay,for example,no mercy is considered by many the best wrestling game invented,but look at those horrible graphics,i mean the 64 was capable more of that,and it didnt really blow you away with its options,it remains in everyones heart because of its gameplay,and so will day of reckoning 2,
.DOR2 captures the true feel and pace of a real match,it doesnt feel like an arcade game like the sd series,it feels like a simulation,it feels like a real strategy game.although its not perfect in the ring,it decided to go with sd stamina meter,which i like in sd,but not here,instead of holding a button,you have to just stand there,and it takes forever to fill up.I do enjoy the new submission system where you flick the c stick to what you wanna do,submit, taunt,etc.
Now onto some real negatives,the gc lack of power,i am tired of reading during a story mode,there still is pretty much the same kind of matches from the original except for the option to play last man standing(not just one on one either,which i believe may be a first time EVER)creating a character is still boring,etc.
All in all,i recomend it for the wrestling fan who really want a good time PLAYING a game,sure there could be more moves per superstar,and more matches,but heres what i really been thinking,most of this games flaw isnt thqs fault but the gamecube,so if they keep the same fighting system for the new revolution wwe game that will release one day,with true power finally at thq s disposal,we could FINALLY be looking at the "no mercy killer"
