WWE All Stars a handheld success.

Good 3DS games are hard to come by, and if you take first party Nintendo titles you're up S creek without a paddle in as far as good 3DS games are concerned. If you're a wrestling fan or into fighting games WWE All Stars is a good buy.

All of the wrestlers (current Superstars and Legends from back in the day when I was a little squirt) from the home console games are here, along with the wrestlers that are available as DLC who bring the total roster up to 43 after you have unlocked everyone. Doing so entails going through a new Gauntlet mode; it's just you as your chosen athlete up against the entire roster one by one. Luckily you do hit save points after every three matches or so and there are matches where you can go back to full health after winning. There is also a new Score Scramble mode where the wrestler with the highest point total wins. The other modes such as Fantasy Warfare and Path of Champions have returned as well.

The game looks great graphically even if it doesn't compete with its PS3 and 360 counterparts. If anything the "blown up" style of the wrestlers is toned down a little bit on the 3DS, and to me that's a good thing. The 3D works nicely, but is a pain when someone like Andre the Giant is blocking your view and you can't see your wrestler.

With a roster that I personally think is better than WWE 12 (heavy on the old guys) and a fun, arcade feel WWE All Stars is a great pick up and play option for your 3DS. Reversals are hard to pull off as usual, and there are still load time issues (although not as bad as the PS3 version). If you are into this sort of game you should feel safe in picking this up.
