Giving you a feel of what it would be behind the wheel of a rally car.

User Rating: 9 | WRC 4: FIA World Rally Championship PS2
Wrc 4 is undeniably a great rally game. It's hard to find an equal to it on the ps2. A title that is really a must have for any rallying fan.
The game is set in classic rallying style where you have to compete in a time based ranking. Setting the best time for each track puts you on the top of the leader board. And if you are doing a full rally, any extra seconds gained per track will see you maintaining overall top ranking for that event.

At the start of the game, most of the tracks and cars are locked. This gives way for the game's unlocks part whereby unlock points are achieved through winning rallies and generally the total distance covered during the course of your game play. The unlocked vehicles at the beginning are 4wd wrc rally cars from makers such as Subaru, Citroën, and ford.

Jumping straight off into the championship is a good option, gives you a feel of the vehicle and the times you would need to achieve in the various tracks and countries so as to be competitive. However, for one new to the series, this may prove to be challenging and a safer option may be 'quick race' where you get to participate in a randomly generated event.

The championship calendar features a vast array of countries each with six tracks to participate in. having top points at the end of the championship campaign see you crowned as the champion. Seemingly straight forward, but this takes time and would see you spend many hours trying to be the best.

An alternate to the main championship is the super 1600, basically a cut down version of the full championship with 2wd rally cars. The 2wd cars are easier to handle and useful as a sort of practice till one gets the full grip of the more powerful 4wd cars.
Also featured in the game is a Group-N and Extreme rally car sections. The Group-N are 4wd cars but less powerful than their wrc cousins. The extreme cars are more of concept cars, highly powerful giving higher abilities in all aspects as compared to the wrc cars.

In all it's a highly immersive game, guaranteed to keep you seated once you get the grips of it.
