Worms 4: Mayhem, is a complex and funny strategy game. Basically, you have to kill all the members of the other team. But here's where this game shines... you have a BIG, LARGE, HUGE amount of weapons to use, a big and nice interactive scenary, and the characters are quite different from the other games... you have to play as a bunch of WORMS! What the hell? Worms? YEAH! WORMS!And they're great characters, they make a lot of funny faces, have a lot of funny lines, and they're unbelievably deadly... Right from the beginning you'll notice the humor, and the strategy elements. The scenarios are very complexes, and they're destroyable! So this means that if your enemy is hiding behind a wall... you can just destroy the wall (of course... this might take a while). Another important part of the strategy element is the arsenal, which is pretty big, and fun to use. The weapons go from the traditional shotgun, bazooka, and grenades, to explosive sheep, explosive bananas, holy hand grenade (yeah... holy!), and the list goes on and on... And each weapon is different to use than the other, making each one unique for each situation. Some weapons are even affected by the wind! And if this insane weaponry is not enough for you... what about creating your own weapon? You make the design (The designs are awesome, they go from grenades and stones to presents and... "poop"), effects, strengths and weaknesses (you can't create a perfect weapon, because the game requires some balance between the teams), how cool is to kill your friend with a weapon that you developed all by yourself? And weapons are not the only thing that you can create... you can create your own team, give a name to it, and all the worms of it. You can also choose their voices, and looks (eyes, hats, faces, and gloves). The game also gives you a lot of different rules to play a match... but if you don't like them, make new rules yourself! There are several game modes, that are: quick game , multiplayer, challenges, and story. In the quick game, as the name already says you have a random match, everything is random, so you don't have to customise the game. In multiplayer, you choose up to four teams (which can be human or AI controlled), you can customize the entire match, from rules to scenary. The challenges are some challenges (duh...) that you have to accomplish before the time runs out. And in the story mode, you'll play through a lot of different missions, and each mission unlocks a thing in your shop (and of course, you'll enjoy a very funny story as well). The AI is very flexible, it goes from patheticaly easy from annoying hard, in easy the AI controlled worms will do some random moves, and little strategy, just like a real beginner, but in hard, they will hit almost every shot... even if it looks impossible to be done (but it's not impossible to defeat them, just practice your strategies a little). But it's much more fun to play against a friend. You may be thinking that spending a lot of time editing weapons, teams, and rules may be boring, but it isn't, it's very easy and fast to do this, and this just elevates the gameplay value. However, if you're too lazy you can just pick the normal selection that the game gives you. The graphics are 3D-cartoon like (cel-shaded), and they're pretty good, if you like cartoons, you'll probably love the graphics. The sound is another strong spot of this game, the musics are good and combine perfectly with this kind of game, the characters have a large amount of funny voices, and the sound effects are good as well, they give you the impression that the weapon is realistic and super powerful. Overall this is an amazing strategy game, with a LOT of unlockable things, nice graphics and sound, a wonderful gameplay, and a LOT, a LOT of humor. It's worth your money.
