Even if you have played the previous games, you should give this a shot.

User Rating: 7.5 | Worms 4: Mayhem PS2
After the success of Worms 3D code masters wanted to step forward with the franchise. If you own Worms 3D then you know what to expect, guns, bombs and sheep. Things have changed a bit since last time though, like new weapons and utilities such as the sniper rifle and the bubble trouble, new customization mode and even a shop. Even though most of the game improves the faults with the other game it does have it's fair share of problems. The graphics are sloppy and poorly designed when Worms 3D's graphics are superior. The controls are mediocre and seem to be fiddly at times due to the awful aiming system and bad scoping controls. Most of the game is jam packed with glitches such as getting stuck while moving around the landscape, weird jumping physics and the music turning off. The game is still fun though because when you get used to these awful controls and the fiddly camera what you get is a great little strategy game. The choice of weapons has been expanded greatly with some classic weapons as well as some new ones. There are also new utilities like the icarus potion and the bubble trouble. The new tutorials are helpful and will teach you the basics you need to know and they aren't very long either. Another great thing about this game is that you can unlock achievements like killing 2 worms with 1 shot or collecting 500 crates. It adds variety to the game and it's also a reason to keep playing. The item shop is a fantastic feature were you can buy new weapons, voice banks, utilities, game styles and maps. You need coins to buy these things and to get them you can either play the story mode, play matches or earn trophies. You can even complete challenges to earn coins and to get a place in the highscore table. Worms 4 Mayhem is a great game, with an excellent selection of weapons and what-not, decent modes, fantastic soundtrack, great customization mode and helpful tutorials. The problems I found were that the controls could become a pain, the camera is atrocious, some controls for the weapons are terrible and there are a few bugs and glitches but overall this is a great addition to the Worm series. If you still have your PS2, Xbox or your PC then you need this game to fill your collection.
