I had been wanting to try this game out for years, but never did because all of the bad things I heard about it. I was out one day and found it for 5 bucks, I thought even if it is bad it want be a waste of money because it was cheap. Well I got to say it's some of the best 5 bucks I've spent on a cheap game, and I wish I would of actually bought it a lot sooner than I did. Besides trying to escape from a prison camp during World War 2 is something that I had never experienced.

To start out you play as Captain Lewis Stone, who at the begging is fly an plane and is shoot down. Luckily you survive that's the good news, but the bad news is you basically crash into the hands of your enemies. They take no time to get you and throw you into the prison camp with fellow prisoners. The camp you get put into isn't all that big and doesn't have many prisoners in it, before long you be planning on your escape. Then just when you think it's all over your just getting started. The story isn't one that will have you being amazed, but it's defiantly a nice little story that keep me interested from start to finish.

The gameplay might turn some people away from the game simply because there isn't much violence. You aren't going to find a German Walther P38 or a Kar98K, your going to rely on nothing but stealth and strategy. If that hasn't changed your opinion then you'll probably enjoy it, me personally found it to be something different than other stealth games I've played and liked the idea of it. You want really be on your own through out the game, you'll be working with other prisoners you meet. They might need you to get something for them and in return help you out and give you information or an item you may need. You want only be working with the prisoners, there is also a few guards who are corrupt and may do something for you or hand out some info for a little cash.

Cash is fairly easy to come by in the game which is basically items you find in the camp, you'll be using this a lot because it'll make the game a lot easier for you. You'll also find German suits in the camp, which will give you access to places which would take stealth before, but watch out some soldiers will see through your disguise. The guards will tell you to stop if they see you doing something suspicious are find you were you shouldn't be. If you don't are try to run they'll start to shoot which no matter how many times you'll end up in the hospital.

The graphics might also be something else that might turn some people away that want good graphics. They aren't the worst I've seen and they didn't really bother me much. The environments aren't very detailed much which this area of the game could have been done better, but in my opinion doesn't bring the game down any. The sound kind of goes in the same direction but again isn't the worst you'll find in a game.

Overall Prisoner of War is a game that really surprised me and one of those games I had passed up for a long time because of things people said about it. If you want to play it go ahead if you can find it who knows you might like it. Yea there is some bad things in it but there is a lot of good things that some other games could take note of and us, because I'd actually like to see more games like this one on the market.
