This version of the game is an exact replica of Wipeout 3 but has extra eight tracks to make a superb game even better.

User Rating: 9.3 | Wipeout 3 Special Edition PS
Wipeout 3 completed the trilogy on the Playstation. So why bother with this version? Well, this version comes with extra eight tracks from previous Wipeout games. They are titled in game as the ‘Classic League’. The tracks include, three from the original Wipeout, and five from Wipeout 2097. These tracks are given a graphics makeover and some changes to physics and ship attributes. Tracks include:

Terramax (Wipeout) Altima VII (Wipeout) Arridos IV (Wipeout) Talon's Reach (Wipeout 2097) Sagarmatha (Wipeout 2097) Phenitia Park (Wipeout 2097) Gare D'Europa (Wipeout 2097) Odessa Keys (Wipeout 2097) As with Wipeout 3, the tracks start off easy and progressively get harder as you move along. This same rule applies to the Classic League. Although, as you race in the harder tracks, you may think the tracks are not classic but once you get the hang of it you will most definitely appreciate why they are classics. Wipeout 3: Special Edition is also one of the only two games on the Playstation to feature a four-player mode using the Playstation’s link cable and split-screen at the same time. For this, you will need two Playstation’s, two televisions and of course two players per console.

Simply put, if you already have the original Wipeout 3, get this version for more enjoyment.
