The original Wii Sports was the driving factor for sales of the Wii.... can lightning strike the same place twice?
The answer I'm pleased to tell you is yes. Wii Sports Resort does everything that was expected of it, and it is once again driving sales of the Wii.
Wii Sports Resort contains 12 sports, and most of these have their own branching variations or difficulty levels. It is clear that homage has been paid to the Xbox 360 achievement and PS3 trophy systems here, with the player's accomplishments being recognised through a stamp system.
All sports utilize the latest Wii accessory, the Wii Motion Plus, and utilize it perfectly, this is coupled with some sports (power cruising, archery) which require the nunchuk. Many of the sports are incredibly engaging... my personal picks being Archery, table tennis, frisbee and basketball. But old favourites golf and bowling return and are still as much fun as they were before.
You will probably find yourself playing the first 8 sports the most, as it appears that many people are interested in sports such as canoeing and cycling.
The most bang for your buck comes when you have friends to play with. This is when Wii Sports Resort once again comes into its own. This is a great game which will drain many an hour.... enjoy.
