Wii Military Camp.

Whenever I boot up Wii Sports Resort, I look forward to the light and meaningless activities the game has to offer. However, I also can't help but think of the $40, I spent on this game, that shouldn't have costed me anything. After all, Wii Sports Resort is nothing more than a minigame collection.

You get to introduce your Mii characters to the game by making them sky dive from a plane onto the island where the resort awaits. After five or so minutes of poorly controllable sky diving, I was convinced that Nintendo was stretching every minute a gamer would spend on this starving title.

The actual game begins after the sky dive when your Miis are enabled to participate in the resort's sports activities. Of course, you control them so you experience the resort through your Miis. I can't prevent myself from admitting the fake nature of this title. You see, it's true that your Mii skydive into what appears as a resort hotel on the island below them. However, once you land, there is no mention of this supposed resort building. In fact, your Miis are only able to play sports activities 24/7. No luxurious suite or room service or balcony view.
The game started looking more like "Wii Military Camp".

However, the activities were definitely entertaining for me; I couldn't deny the light entertainment of sword fighting, virtual paddling, table tennis, and the like. These activities got exciting for a solid ten minutes. Hey! That's pretty "impressive" for a minigame, right?

However, that's all life is like in Wii Military Camp. You get to play these cute and meaningless activities that are slightly entertaining and provide absolutely no context whatsoever.

Perhaps that was the intent of the game: to pick up the controller and jump into a 2-3 minute game anytime you want. However, I personally took offense at the fact that Wii Sports Resort had so few features to its name. In essence, the game is purely a collection of minigames.

So it's not even a legitimate video game.
