Rubi, the acrobatic heroine, would make almost anyone pick up this game. Maybe.
As Rubi, you can climb or run on walls, swing on poles, and slide while using your guns to kill enemies. You will start off in the main stages, which is quite simple. The object, however, is to use as much acrobatic tricks as you can. This includes jumping, wall climbing, sliding, etc. Actually, that's the main object of the whole game. For each trick and person you kill, you receive style points, which you can use in the upgrade shop to buy new abilities and weapon upgrades for Rubi.
Next is the arena mode. The arena consists of a certain number of spawn doors that you have to break to stop the enemies from coming in continuously. After the doors have been broken, you have to defeat the enemies left over if there is any left. Sometimes, there could be an enemy isn't as easy as shooting. You will have to find out how to do that on your own. There is also a rage mode, you will know when it's rage time, the stage suddenly turns red. This, is where you defeat enemies in a black and white form, having their remains splatter across the walls/floors.
The training mode is a special stage where Rubi goes back to her Boneyard, and learns how to use her new weapons. There are 3 other weapons the game will allow you to train with. With these weapons, the object of training is shooting targets, while running through red/orange rings to activate the targets. There is also the sword, which you can use in the game to slash enemies.
Cut scenes. We love to watch the beautiful cut scenes, or we would just want to skip through them. Bad news, most of them you can't skip. Actually, you have to pay attention to all of them. Why? Because there is sometimes where you have to press a button or you will fall to your death. There's also some car chases where you are shooting at enemies, but you also have to pay attention to press a button when it shows up on the screen or you will fall to your death.
The soundtrack of this game is amazing, it could really get a gamer in the mood to slice/shoot some enemies to smithereens. The gameplay is decent, but I had tons of troubles with the buttons transmitting with the game. There is tons of loops where if you don't pay attention to where you are jumping, you will fall to your death. This game will keep you on your toes, good or bad.
All in all, this game could give anyone mixed emotions. If you enjoy action games, check out the demo.
