Way Of The Samurai 3

I bought this game on a whim, having never really played anything of a similar nature, and not knowing anyone that had played this or any of it's two predecessors.

The game, I find, is hard to describe, part historical action, part historical adventure, part fighting, but not one thing or another in enough quantity to make it a definitive fighter or action game.

The controls are pretty simple to pick up but are slightly different than what most would be used to, maybe that is just me but I did at times find myself scrambling for the booklet to check which key did which.

The graphics are not that great in my opinion, while they do seemingly fit the environment and times this is game that looks nice, the further way your sat.

The gamplay itself is not too bad, fighting running and other basic controls are simple to master, and there is not a over complication in completing given tasks, and fighting foes, although you have to be wary as some simply will not die unless your skills are much higher than when you may first interact with them.

Also I found it slightly annoying to have to re-load the game from the last save point every time you die. While this encourages regular saving after notable events, fights, etc, it does mean having to back track to the nearest village or place of interest that has someone who'll let you save.

Overall this is a very good game IF you have the time and patience to want to play through it and take the time to deal with some of the minor problems the game can, and will throw at you, however for the majority I'd advice caution, and to maybe rent it first before purchasing, this game can at time be overly difficult, especially when your in fights with people you have no way to defeat due to the difference in levels.
