Overhyped Dressed up GTA

There is really honestly nothing special about this game. It's GTA with a few tweaks and nothing more. The game forces you to constantly drive vehicles, and the mechanics of driving are mediocre and not impressive which is sad as when it was first being developed it was a racing game. Thank goodness they didn't continue down that path.

It's easy to get lost in all the smaller side missions because something is constantly bugging you about a crime taking place or a gang house is nearby etc. I played the game for a total of about 6 hours and I was bored with the campaign after the first 2. The story doesn't progress well, barely at all, and the tasks start to seem mundane. The world is interactive with you, to a point, but once you've started hacking, you've hacked the same things at least 5 times in ten minutes. The hacking is very limited and not nearly impressive as was made out to be. So you can see information about everyone on the street around you. Big deal, 95% of it isn't relevant to the story and eventually gets annoying. Weapons are run of the mill nothing special. Graphics are good, but Wolfenstein The New Order beats them on that hands down as it still has a last gen feel to them.

The most fun I had in the game was playing the little arcade games and jumping various vehicles off sculptures onto the L train tracks and shooting everyone we saw in free roam mode.

I had high hopes for this game being a totally new concept with cool new things to do and a game to last until the fall, but this is just not so. It's an old concept in a new, but ugly dress. Unless you seriously don't know what a good game actually is, you'll be let down by WD and I would just wait until you can buy it at a discount.
