I expected more
As a new player to Warhammer 40000 space marine, it wasn't a new experience at all. It's a kind of solid shooter with some few fun moments. This game is a kind of combination between Gears of war and Darksiders . Everyone in this game is crude, big and frightening. About story, it has a simple one; you are the only person who could save the world from space invaders. But for more essence they added dark powers inside the main character, Titus. At the end he defeats the enemy but might become one of them, cool?
About fighting, it is cool to fight hordes of green orcs and use or axe of chainsaw to slash them out. They become stronger with better equipment's as the game progress. Guns are not so bad and let us some options to kill more enemies. We can change them all the way long and kill more and more orcs. I don't know if gears of war didn't exists what would happen to this game?!
It seems that THQ have a fix paradigm for games and make them accordingly, let's think about Darssiders , red faction Armageddon and now Warhammer 40000 . In all of them you should kill and slash enemies with big guns or we can say weapons. I was curious about this game but when I started this is soon realized it is another generic shooter with big guns. In times we can fly and invade from the top to our enemies and that is a good thing to do. It is also funny to grab enemies and stomp on them with their shields or by our own axe or hammer. But we did all of that in Darksiders before. I don't know what's a need for doing it all again?
At the early notes about this game in game spot, they revered to it as a kind of RPG, but that was a waste of a sweet dream; Captain Titus in a torn world in war and destruction seeking for salvation; to find allies and help them to defend our last stronghold of hope. Just remember to shoot every green moving thing that you see moving and that's all. And at the end I forgot to tell you this: in this game orks speaks with British accent!!
