not quite as bad as people say, but still pretty bad
The thing that I love most about this game is its amazing syle. It contains all the cool charaqcters from viewtiful joe 1 and 2. The courses are all unique and exciting and the menus and icons are look pretty flash. The Music and sound both work well with the theme of the game. Graphics are nothing special, but are bright and colourful with lots of nice effects.
But the problem lies within the gameplay. Everything just seems to happen all at once. While you are fighting you must collect coins, brave the challenges of the course and not be distracted by moving obstacles and animanted backgrounds. In one stage half the court is sealed away so you can be on different sides to your opponent, while large almost un-avoidable bombs drop on you. Its hard to appreciate the aforesaid style and kool moves when the course is zoomed out and with all the things going ont in the background you can't see your character. Its even worse when there are 4 players because none of you can see and its literally just button mashing and hopinf for the best. In fact, you can't really master this game when most of the time you don't know whats going on, its really just luck if you hit the right buttons at the right time.
This game is really a tribut to the Viewtiful joe series. If you havent played viewtiful joe yet, I suggest you play it instead of this. This game could have been really good, and if it weren't for the cool characters un the unlockable characters and the cool sense of style, I wouldn't give this game anything at all.
If you love vietwtiful joe as much as i do its worth a buy. If not, just play super smash brothers melee.
