Quantum Break - Gameplay Premiere Gamescom 2014

These days only filthy casual gamers want 'cool' as a way to define a game. It so far hasn't done anything to move the FPS genre forward, just another max payne rehash. Microsoft is slowly plunging into the depths of mediocrity faster than you can say Titanfall or Sunset Overdrive.

What's up with all the negative comments? I thought the gameplay looked pretty awesome. Freezing time seemed like a ton of fun, and I could definitely see some cool tactics to use with it. Am I really the only one who thought it looked cool?

Also, the lighting in that was fantastic.

I'll still play the game but I'm not that excited for it now, As someone who loved Max Payne 1 and 2, enjoyed Alan Wake, the gameplay here looks pretty bland. I didn't think the gameplay in Alan Wake was excellent either but I still enjoyed it though. It's just that from the video, all you do is sit in cover, slow down time and spray and pray on your enemies or run up to them while they sit there and follow a button prompt. Maybe the story will be good but I'll have to play the whole game, so far it looks like another sci-fi thriller, some kid has special powers and some powerful people want to control it blah blah.

Looks very linear and scripted and the boring cover shooter gameplay and braindead AI doesn't help much either.

So much wasted potential, it's almost saddening.

There might still be a decent game hiding outside of what was shown in the gameplay video, so I'll reserve final judgement until after release, but if nothing improves I'll get it in a -75% off sale on PC or not at all, sorry Remedy but from what I've seen in the video it's worth no more than 10 to 15 EUR tops for me.

I wonder what the replay value is going to be besides "collect all of X". (journal pages, thermos cans, ...)

Nice to know how it'll look like on PC with max settings! I'd be pretty impressed if they could actually ship the game looking like this on the bone without making it go down below 720p. Who am I kidding though, the xbone couldn't even run Titanfall in 1080p... Game looks cool though, I'd pick it up if it ever came up on PC.

Hey, an actual gameplay video that shows continuous gameplay for a few minutes. Unlike some other gamplay trailers where they don't show more than one half to three seconds of continuous gameplay footage, such as that new zombie game.

However, I would suggest trimming the first minute and a half of this video, yawn... No one cares what things look like before you get to the action.

So it seems they merged the darkness of Alan Wake with the time manipulating from bullet time in Max Payne. Sounds good to me as long as Sam Lake is able to pen another story as good as Alan Wake was to go with it =)

this is more like alan wake but linear like max payne and the combat reminds me of remember me somehow. i wish to see more friendly co op games coming from xbox...

Wow, i hate to say it. Xbox actually has a good game coming out for it I am sad I wont get to play. Oh well... guess I still got bloodborne.

Looks like a movie in which you auto walk and press A to climb a ladder. Typical Xbone power, can't achieve visuals over what was available last gen otherwise

The gameplay looks so boring I dont see any reason why I should play it. Why not just making it another TV show, when it already plays like a movie? I dont get the point of such games. Same with Uncharted.

Look's nice, but also looks way too easy with those powers recharging so quickly.
