Wrecking Ball is the newest hero to join the Overwatch roster, and he is also perhaps the strangest of them all, which is saying something when you consider there's a talking gorilla scientist from the moon also among them. Wrecking Ball is actually a mech piloted by a mega-smart hamster called Hammond. He escaped a testing facility on the moon (the same one as the aforementioned gorilla) and is now tearing up Overwatch servers on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Wrecking Ball is a pretty tricky character to get to grips with, mostly because he has a range of traversal options that are unlike anyone else in the game. Along with the ability to turn into an actual ball and roll around at very quick speeds, Wrecking Ball is able to attach to points on each map and then swing around, dealing damage to all enemy players that get in his way.
Like some sort of super aggro Spider-Man, he's also able to detach in mid-air and slam down onto the ground, doing damage to enemy combatants around him. In addition to those abilities, he has an adaptive shield, which becomes stronger depending on the amount of opponents that are in the vicinity. Then there's his Minefield ultimate, which--as the name implies--drops a bunch of explosives to deny enemies access to a portion of the map.
Needless to say, there's a lot to think about when picking Wrecking Ball, and since your team is going to be relying on you, there's not much room for error, lest you receive the wrath of fellow online players. With this in mind, we've put together a Wrecking Ball hero guide, which you can watch to get a good overview of what he's capable of and how best to use him. Watch it above.
