As someone who played League of Legends since early season 2, managed a team in Counter-Strike: Source, and currently plays Street Fighter V, I can say there is no way this Breakaway game will be an e-sports title.

First, it's late to the party and needs something special to stand out from the pack, but I'm not seeing it. It's like a poor-man's version of League and Overwatch, but rather than doing both well, it perhaps only does both decently. This game is also too chaotic, so e-sports announcers will have a harder time shout-casting, because yea, it's hard to tell what's happening on-screen! Maybe to the game's veterans the action is forgiving, but how will the spectators feel?

Maybe this is something they can build upon. I know it's an alpha, but right now I don't see why anyone who is a League, Dota, Smite, Heroes of the Storm, or Overwatch loyalist would drop their game of choice for this.

Turns out I hate MOBA's. Wow do I hate them.

Overwatch I do love though. Because its none of that destroy the towers and protect the minions BS going on. I would not put it in the same genre as a MOBA at all.

Its sad, because games like Paladins are freaking beautiful. And its fun to play games with asymmetric colorful balanced characters. In fact that is often the sign of a good developing team. Now throw in MOBA factor and it instantly turns into a POS.

Another shooter which is taking some elements of MOBA gameplay into it's shooter mechanics; Overwatch did a similar thing.

The thing that strikes me most about this game though is that it's name used to be that of a chocolate biscuit in the UK.

@HBM: Haha, that's great to know. I hope that this means that a chocolate biscuit company based in the UK will sue Amazon, that would be so funny!

Again, 'Don't take away my Breakaway!'. :D
