As the battle royale game mode flourishes, and leaks abound regarding which games may or may not make use of the format in the future, Fortnite continues to blossom - not only as a game, but a mainstream phenomenon. And with a recent update, Fortnite has evolved once again.
Rather than the tried-and-true maps, weapons, and outfits that modern games release with new updates, Fortnite is lending more narrative to the multiplayer title. In the game's third season of live content, players noticed a mysterious comet in the sky. It recently crashed into the map, obliterating Dusty Depot, and creating a new zone in its place.
