Fortnite Season 6 Map Update's New Areas -- Secret Bunker, Floating Island, Corrupted Areas

We dive into some of the known new areas that have been added with Fortnite's Season 6 and all the eerie changes made by the mysterious purple cube.

The Fortnite Season 6 patch notes confirm that there's a number of new areas on the map: Floating Island, Corrupted Areas, Corn Fields, and Haunted Castle. However, the notes also encourage players to "drop in and find the rest in-game," and reports have indicated that there's a few secret areas too, such as the bunker featured in the video above. The video also showcases many of the new named areas you'll encounter when dropping in during Season 6. Since the debut of the season, the Floating Island has begun to move and leave craters on the map.

The Corrupted Areas are home to a new type of item called Shadow Stones. These allow players to go invisible and provide other buffs, but at the expense of being unable to fire a weapon. On the cosmetic side, there are new skins and a type of item called Pets--essentially creatures that hang onto your back and react to the action.
