Within 24 hours of release, Grand Theft Auto V generated more than $800 million in revenue, equating to nearly 13 million copies sold for Take Two, exceeding the previous first-day sales record of $500 million set by Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The numbers nearly doubled analysts' expectations for the title. Three days after the release, the game had surpassed $1 billion in sales.This broke the previous record set by Call of Duty: Black Ops II, which took 15 days to surpass $1 billion in sales.

I don't think it matters what any site or reviewer has to say about the game, the sales figures speak for themselves lol

I personally admire the camaraderie displayed here. I can't help but feel that the attacks on the reviewer are a much more important topic than how bad the review may have been. Furthermore, Gamespot has always been harder on games I can't remember a time when there scores were generally lower than others. While sites like Ign give 10/10 to basically everything.

So here is the problem i have with it. You gave GTA IV a 10 and by all means this is a much more advanced game than the linear model of IV. Giving this game a 9.0, the same as the Beatles Rock Band and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six is a little below the belt, the writing and characterisation alone are a 9.5.

So is it that you do not believe this is a better game than IV, (which would be hard to believe) or are your reviewers incompetent and want to be different in some way, like those people who listen to bands no one else knows the name too, just so they come off as musically edgier.

I think it should have got a 7. since the game is incomplete. in order to experience the whole game you have to have online (gta online has 500 missions 61 of which are included in the single player game). Also nearly everywhere is shut on the single player, cannot even go into the burger shot or the cluckin bell lol.

I still can't make the impound lot work?

Do you have to get past a certain point of the game first?

Also is there anyway that you can miss part of the game by changing characters at the wrong time?

Sorry to ask on here but I couldn't think or anywhere that has more people who might know the answers to this for me lol

Wow very we'll said at the end of the video! I find it so strange that people on this site get so hurt when a review for a game doesn't go the exact way they want it to. Carol did an excellent job reviewing GTAV, and like any professional critic she brought up things the game excelled at and points she felt it could improve on. People need to stop taking these things so personally, and realize that just like with everything else, your opinions are going to differ with others on these things. Take a review for what it is, a writ up on another's opinion of a product, and nothing more

But they feel to realize the fact that they're going at it the wrong way and infact hurting themselves as more and more people get fed up with their bullshit. IGN nailed it this time.

The misogynistic comment was very silly. Sure, it shows women in that light, but does it show the men as being any better? But it's okay for all the men to be shown in a negative way, but not women? Seems a little biased to me.

I've been with Gamespot for almost 15 years now. This is where I move on. This whole Johnny section is completely unnecessary and lame. I thought it was lame a while back when Johnny was mocking Tomb Raider 1 because of the controls, a game that was groundbreaking when it came out.

I thought the review of The Last of Us was BS, but seeing how GS handles critique and what they have become recently I gotta move on. RIP.

I agree with their review. GTA5 is just an amazing & addicting game. I'm really impressed with the technical achievement & storytelling in parts. But there's no getting around the fact that the lack of any shred of morality in this game seriously deteriorates the pleasure of spending time in it's world. I know that some people vehemently defend that this game is about criminals and therefore we should know what to expect & like it, but in my humble opinion there is no reason for everything from the random comments from people on the side of the road, to the situations & the characters themselves to be so vile. If you want a good example of some moral struggle from interesting criminal characters watch Michael Mann's, "Heat." It's my personal hope that someday Rockstar will give us a GTA game that might have characters we could actually fully like, sympathize with & care about. They got closest to this in Red Dead, so maybe someday.
