Contra was the best back in the day and my personal favourite. That, Golden Axe and Double Dragon. There was also Gunstar Heroes. Awesome games.

These types of games really are becoming increasingly rare. So frustrating! I. Love. Co-op.

Couch co-op? That requires friends...I haven't had friends in years.

@Bread_or_Decide: Me neither, but then I got a bigger TV and better surround sound. The friends starting pouring into my house to play games. It's costly, but a worthwhile investment if you ask me.

@ranger_lennier: Hate waggle controls... cannot believe Nintendo wont let you use the main controller either for Wii U co-op. I'd say they're a fail.

@Sw1tched: Toejam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron was my first real co-op experience. I would play with my dad. We really loved that game. So many good memories.......thanks for bringing this one up!

@Sw1tched:

Don't forget The Lost Vikings, Double Dragon, Battletoads.... Anything from SNES/Genesis era was co-op gold. They just don't make em' like they used to. Toe Jam and Earl has a special place in my heart though.

Why is everyone pi ssed that the games on this list are recent? She states in the beginning that the point of this list is because it seems like couch co-op games are harder and harder to find.

DERP

Also, here's my list off the top of my head.

Perfect Dark (N64) - Also updated on XBLA

Double Dragon (Any of them)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Pretty much anything pre-2000)

Splinter Cell Blacklist (The levels that were co-op, sadly the whole game isn't)

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World ( I don't care, this game is a lot of fun )

Getting really pis sed off at Gamespot for censoring things like "pis sed" as if it's an even remotely inappropriate term.

I think consoles biggest strong point is couch coop. Too bad there are less and less coop games coming out...

@balintcsikos: I see what you mean. PC's can be connected via HDMI to my big screen TV. As you know, all games mentioned work with an xbox 360 or xbone controller and my friends enjoy the 2-4 player local coop. Gaming just like the old days.

@balintcsikos: There's actually a lot of couch coop on PC. Way more than consoles. Battleblock Theater, Castle Crashers, Broforce/Expendabros, All Zombies Must Die, Devil's Dare, Dungeon Defenders, Final Exam, Forced, Foul Play, Gauntled, Magicka, Orcs Must Die, Spelunky, Trine, Forced, Nation Red, Assault on Cactus, Towerfall Ascension and much more really.

@Ed28101@balintcsikos: Yepp that's true and I played with almost all of them but I still prefer consoles for couch coop gaming. As I like to use only keyboard and mouse when I'm on PC it's not that comfortable to play with others who can't really sit next to me and also my monitor was always smaller than my TV so it's just not the same feeling. And I know I could put my PC next to the TV for a console feeling but I'm also working on it so that's just not working...:)

@VenkmanPHD@balintcsikos: When I bought a game for NES, PS1 or PS2, the first thing I looked for was the 2 player coop mode. I think Twisted Metal 2 and Crash Bash coop with my brother was the best thing ever in my gaming life:)

That s sad(and i am surprised to hear that). PC version allowed you to play from 2 to 16 players in co-op for campaign

Knew watching the video wouldn't be worth it. Chick probably got into video games for attention from guys who aren't assholes. No mention of any games pre-2000? Ha!

@Dawg9000: Haha after reading that made up reason for her to get into gaming i got a mental image of her saying "I've made a huuge mistake" afterwards like Job from Arrested Development

As for your point. Any pre-2000 games your still playing coop with friends? Alot of them where great back then, but im not sure i'd fire any of them up if a friend came over

Well she should probably modify the title of the video or at the very least mention that she's only including recent games.
