Hello? LirrleBigPlanet? How did none of them make the list???
Resistance 1 and 3 where good couch co-op games
Although not technically co-op, I had a blast playing point and click adventure games with my sister while we were growing up. -- Plus a fun one I didn't see on many lists was Sonic 2 : my sister played as Tails who could never really die so she felt no pressure but could still join in the fun, plus working together to get the chaos emeralds was a must. Thanks again Sis!

RE5 totally looks like a normal PS4 game!
I`ve always loved single player games but Couch co-op was main reason i boughtmy first console (otherwise i would have stuck to my PC)What a disappointment when i realized how very little titles came on the PS3and then trend will probably continue on the PS4.Do they have idea how many couples would actually buy nice couch games if theywere properly marketed and available from the online stores...
@gwaf: The PS4 is a lot better than the PS3 for co-op because of the indie market. Sadly, most Triple-A games have abandoned the idea of playing with the people next to you (like even Halo doesn't have splitscreen anymore), but its still there for smaller developers.
Nintendo is the way to go for couch co-op though. I just got my first Wii recently, and now its what me and my girlfriend play whenever she's over.
And every SINGLE one of them is made by Nintendo. The greatest gaming company that ever exixted.
@jdlok: Did you actually watch the video? 12 of the 13 AREN'T made by Nintendo.
Doing a 24 hour gaming marathon for charity this month, and I've just added some of these to our list of things to play together.
diablo 3....no i spent 12 hours and beat the game and never wanted to return

Perfect Dark on the N64 will always be my favorite co-op game.
The video is for modern co-op. Back in the day games had to be co-op to make them more fun and the fact that they were so challenging. They were challenging because they were like 5 hours long, but took 100hrs to master to reach the end. You may not make it through a Contra level, but as long as your friend does you can pick up at the next level.
I think there is one BIG omission here... Rock Band/Guitar Hero Fun times
Monster Hunter guys... come-on
@C0SMIC_DUCK: Yup, had a great two weeks last summer with MH3U, me on my 3DSXL and a buddy on his Wii-U on his couch. We both only bought those platforms for Monster Hunter co-op. I guess technically they aren't covered by this though since we played on two different consoles but the couch aspect was defenitely there and the main motivation. Communicating effectively, being able to point to stuff on the big screen and high fiving after defeating a big monster. :)
@trollkind@C0SMIC_DUCK: Exactly! Those were the day’s haha. Fair point but I wish they gave it honourable mention at least.
I'm looking forward to the New 3DSXL and MHF4U next month totally agree with you it’s the only reason I will buy a Nintendo product, MH is by far one of my favourite Co-op games! (Not slagging Nintendo btw).
Out of personal curiosity were the graphics on his Wii U better than yours on the 3DSXL or not?
@C0SMIC_DUCK@trollkind: I'd say marginally but the small screens on the handheld forgive a lot so in the end I'd say it looks better on the XL because the low fidelity graphics don't span such a big space. It looks like a HD version of a last gen game on the Wii-U but Monster Hunter was never exactly on the cutting edge graphicswise anyway. I wish they would have stuck with Sony, MH on the Vita with all the extra features and proper multiplayer infrastructure, mmmmmh.
As it looks now, I may actually pick up a new 3DS XL with MH4 preinstalled if the special version reaches us in the EU, nothing on amazon.co.uk yet. If my wallet can stomach the ridiculousness of paying that money to essentially play one game in style. Although I'm undecided if my big hands wouldn't even miss the bulky Circlepad Pro attachment. We'll see.
Call of Duty's Nazi Zombies and Spec Ops missions
Minecraft on PS4
I found Gears 3 to be better than the 2nd game, especially the campaign.
These games came to mindSwat 4 & Stetchkov Syndicate expansion on PC
TMNT: Out of the ShadowsI also found this helpful website - << LINK REMOVED >>
FREEDOM FIGHTERS NEEDS TO BE ON THIS LIST!!!!! That game was amazing for splitscreen ahh the memories
Sh!t my comment is irrelevant.... Freedom fighters had no coop, just splitscreen vs up to 4 players it was pure mayhem tho
path of exile?
@D4rkey: It's great to play with friends due to the tactical depth and synergy you can set up but it's not a couch co-op game.
River City RansomLife ForceHalo ReachGears of WarTMNT Arcade versionDouble DragonGolden AxeContraVanilla WoWRainbow Six Vegas 2

twisted metal black ps2

Great list! Love to see Lara Croft get some recognition, I thought it was a brilliant mix of action and puzzles that really made you feel like part of a team to overcome them.
I might throw in an honorable mentions for Splosion Man, and for one of my favorites, Earth Defense Force, for the sheer chaos and comedy...plus, with two people, the frame rate drops that much more, and provides quite an entertaining experience.
I remember laughing at the horrendous decision developers made in Resident Evil 5 to have it so someone had to start a single player game, then someone else pressed start. Seriously, fire that guy.
i cant see the video but Sonic the Hedgehog 2 better be there since some one could control tails!
Ghost recon 2. Epic couch co-op campaign on original x-box. They do not make games anything like this anymore.
Damn it man, don't get me all nostalgic of the old original xbox and ps2 days... :'( nostalgia tear. And hystavito I was also huge in rb6 on xbox original and pc
@nhwilber: I was more a Rainbow Six fan, but yes they don't make games like that anymore. Well there are a couple indies trying.
Am I the only one who thinks smash bros should be on this list?
@19lvansq: its not co-op unless i missed the Campaign
