This is such a great game. The Atari version's graphics were lacking, but it was still on par with everything out at that time. Oh I have spent many quarters playing this one at the arcade. The sound and the graphics are much better in the arcade version.

It is an up & down side to side scrolling game. It's like Defender or Scramble but it goes up and down and side to side. The gameplay is also like Defender/Scramble. You do get to fire in four directions, which is needed due to the 2nd scrolling system. This must have been one of the first games that gave that extra dimension. It also had a pretty good map to help you know which section your at and where to go.

One of the greatest parts of this game is the soundtrack. With Queen playing the whole time, it can't be a bad game. The music is actually from the "Flash Gordon" soundtrack.
