This game is a huge dissappointment to the Valkyrie Profile series.

I just beat this game a few minutes ago and I thought this game was all right, but really disappointing. I needed my Action Replay to survive in this game, due to the lack of movement, attack range, sin, and the unforgiving difficulty level. This game has the same real-time, turn-based battle system from VP1 and 2, except this time, in tactics form. I really did not like the way Square Enix combined the real-time with the tactics battle system. This battle system made the game really difficult and very boring. The game was fun initially, but due to the same strategies over and over again, the game got really boring. Sin is the newest addition to the Valkyrie Profile series. Sin is collected if you overkill an enemy. You have to fill up the whole Sin guage to collect maximum Sin. This is a very tedious and mentally killing chore because you need to collect the correct amount of Sin that Hel's servant is asking for. To get really good items, you have to collect twice as much Sin that the mission is asking for. This is extremely difficult due to most of the enemies's high RDM and RES. This is easy to do the first two chapters, but from chapter three onwards, it gets really difficult. You most of the time would have to restart the mission to collect the 200% SIn to get the best items. The biggest problems in this game are: the lack of movement, attack range, and overpowered enemies. Each of your characters have a limited movement and attack range. They can only attack from that said range on the menu screen. It's very difficult trying to destroy one enemy with one unit because almost all of the time, you are going to have to attack one enemy with all of your units to try to accumulate Sin, and some of the enemies are overpowered. The overpowered enemies you are going to have to take down quickly because they can kill a party member in one hit. This gets very annoying. Aside from the bad sides of the game, let's go to the good sides of the game. The graphics are very good. Though they do look like GBA graphics, they are still pretty good. The music in this game is awesome. This game has the same soundtrack from VP1, and it's remixed. The Soul Crushes are just as awesome to do against an enemy. Soul Crush attacks are a character's Limit Break. You can only acheive Soul Crushes if your characters are equipped with a certain weapon, and the Heat Guage is at 100. A great but dissappointing game on the Nintendo DS that is for any hardcore Valkyrie Profile fan. I would not recommend this game to anyone new to the series due to the unforgiving difficulty level and really messed up gameplay.
