Roland, the only champion out of the game shall duel his father Arngrim and Leone in this epic story of cowardice

User Rating: 1 | Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria PS2
When I played Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth I thought "this game's awesome". When I heard they were making a SEQUEL I thought "that's gonna be awesome". Then I heard it was about Silmeria and I thought they would go from the end of Valkyrie Profile. I was wrong. I was playing the game thinking it was a sequel wondering what the heck was going on and then I looked at the booklet and it said PREQUEL. I thought it was lying and laughed. Then, they started talkin' about how Arngrim is...reincarnated. That made me think again it was in the future. I was wrong again. This is a prequel, sequel. It is both. Uh...SPOILER. It's in the future, in the past. Apparently, Silmeria is a coward that was ingested by a princess named none other than Alicia the cowardice. The best characters was some idiot that you picked up on the side of the road that was dead named Roland! Seriously, using more than 2 characters per battle is the stupidest thing ever. One should be a healer and that idiot's purpose is only to heal the fighter and sit in a corner. Every time I didn't just use Roland, I ended up getting killed cuz all the cowards were suckin' up all the champion. Roland was dying from lack of championship. Roland was Arngrim's son who surpassed him. Arngrim had him in the past and came to the future. The battle system is the worst piece of crap I've ever been forced to play cuz yet again, my brother bought it for me. This time I was like "Valkyrie Profile 2. Liked the first one". Actually, now that I'm thinkin about it. I got 12 on the same Christmas as this game. That was the worst Christmas I've ever had! This game was complete disappointment. I watched the Xplay review and they said that it sucked and I was like "Xplay sucks, they say 12's awesome. I don't trust that game as far as I can throw it". I still stand by that. But, for once, X-play was right. They raped Valkyrie Profile. They had a retarded AP gage which I've already mentioned. You gain more AP when you move around. It sounds like it might be alright but it's truly monotnous and terrible. I wouldn't call this game "hard" exactly. I don't think of leveling up games as difficult. I think of them as time consuming. This one is very time consuming if you do it like you're supposed to. As I've mentioned, I was not one of those people and took two characters exclusively to level up. Every once in a while Alicia would tag along cuz I had to use her and she could heal. All the Valkyries were horrible in this game although sometimes I used Lenneth just for sentimental reasons. Oh, how she sucked in this game. The awesome battle system from the first one was destroyed. The new running around tactic was horrible. Splitting up your people was useless unless you just wanted to keep the cowards away from champion Roland. The teleporting crap...sucked. Useless. I had the strategy guide (I do NOT approve of strategy guides at ALL but you HAVE to have the strategy guide) and they were like "you have to stand and face the wall, fire in an upward direction so you can hit a certain enemy, and then you have to hit another enemy and stack them on top of each other three times over to get the chest with a key to open another chest. But, that wasn't even worse part. The WORST part was how vague the directions are. "Stand in yonder position firing yeast bouncing off two walls and touching the yile". I was like "what kind of a French language is this"?! They don't tell you which direction to stand, what wall you shoot off of, what enemy to hit. No. Just stand in ye corner. The dungeons were so badly designed and so aggravating that I burnt my house down to erase the evidence I played the game. I thought it was a crime for some reason. Then I realized the game was in my car. NO! Man, I really have anger issues. As for the general plotline. It was like they started out with a set course. Like a train on tracks. But like most other stories, the train derailed off the track and began cruising through the desert taking sharp left and right turns at will. Eventually, the train flipped over and exploded. That was the end. I had no idea what happened. The train had gone so far off course that the path was unrecognizable. It was like they craved an excuse to make Lenneth a coward. They had to do it. Oh yeah, and not even to mention they ripped off Tales of Symphonia and the most brilliant idea that made me confused in the way I wasn't supposed to be confused. The elf ordeal! SPOILER. Just like in Tales of Symphonia when I was like "man, I hate this green half-elf guy that's tryin to be Link. Give it up man. You suck". Then, I come to find out I was supposed to believe that he was a HUMAN! How could the guy that looks like Link be a human? If that wasn't already a dead giveaway, he uses BOWS! I don't even know how the other characters didn't know! He had pointy ears! Oh wait, he wore a headband. Everyone knows elves don't wear headbands. They were pointy hats that are green. Rufus was a coward and I always hated him. The part in the game that left you completely clueless was when Dillan randomly became Brahms. I believe I screamed "WHAT JUST HAPPENED AND WHY?!" It was random and stupid and didn't really need to happen at all. Hey, while I'm on Brahms, he sucked bad in this game. He was awesome in the last one from the one battle I used him in cuz, you know me, I'm not goin through no Communism the Gate to get Lazard and Freya and Brahms. By the end of the game he was still on level 1. I lost all respect for Norse mythology when I played that game. And everyone lost their champion voices. I loved Lezard's whiny, horribly acted voice but they just HAD to go get someone that could act better and had a cool voice! The last battle took like forever of my life! And I was supposed to use the main character but I refused and only used Roland! I sat the main character on the sidelines and she every once in a while was sent in to kamakazi to revive Roland. I knew she could take off damage but I didn't feel like leveling up so I stuck with Roland takin' off 10 damage a hit. And I won versus a boss with ten thousand HP. I'm a champion! Actually, it took about four hours. I went somewhere with the playstation still on! Oh yeah, Dillan! GET TO THE CHOPPA! If you can find it in your soul, please...reframe from pressing the deletion button. I am just trying to get a laugh out of people. Not trying to tick you off.
