gangs

User Rating: 8.8 | Urban Chaos: Riot Response PS2
Story: You are Nick Mason, a former US Marine, and brand new member of the anti gang organization T-Zero. The city that you are protecting is being nearly overrun on a daily basis by homicidal gangs who number in the thousands. The city is on the verge of collapse, time to stop some crime

Gameplay: The gameplay is really good so far. You usually have to get some sort of assistance from either firemen, medics and normal civilians to complete your missions. The weapons are semi-strong but pretty accurate. You get a normal handgun, a MK1 Shotgun which looks big and goofy, a MK1 machine gun with decent sniping and other assorted weapons and equipment including molotov cocktails, taser and a nearly invincible riot shield, you also get a gas mask with thermal vision to see in smoke filled rooms, you'll get this bit of tech later. A warning: do not use the taser for to long, or else you will literally set the attacking gang members on fire. I mean you can set them on fire, but just make sure they are not gang leaders. Which leads to the next part of gameplay. from time to time you will have to capture gang leaders by either beating the piss out of them with your shield, or shocking them into submission.

You will also have to rescue civilians from dangerous situations. Including hostage situations, helping wounded civilians to safety and rescuing people from fires. The firemen and police usually help you automatically. You also have to issue basic commands to the firemen using the D-pad. Commands such as breaking down doors and carrying around the injured. It gives the game a little more realism as the situations become more dangerous.

You can also get weapons upgrades based on the amount of badges you earn per mission. They have to do with head shots, rescues and finding evidence, also you gets badges from the amount of innocent people who survive.

Graphics: The graphics are good, the city environment looks beat up and totally chaotic. The smoke and fire effects are decent as well, the blood spattering, cracks and bullet holes that cover in your riot shield also look very realistic. Nothing more satisfying than beating a burner's head in.

Sound: Nothing much to say about the sound, the screams of pain and terror are normal, the weapons sound normal and so do the explosions. So all and all pretty basic.

Overall this game is great so far. I really have no problems with it, the gameplay is good, the graphics are decent and it has been fun up to the point where I am at. Hopefully it will continue to be fun.
