User Rating: 9.5 | Uncharted 2: Among Thieves PS3
Uncharted 2 was great enjoyment to play through. From beginning to end you were taken into a realm of adventure that allowed for your heart to pump wildly. Nathan Drake is finds his charming self so busy just trying to stay alive and keep others alive that you never really stop to think what would happen if that was actually you (the gamer).
Instead of the heart of the jungle, this time the game takes place in multiple settings Malaysia, Turkey, but most Tibet. Your initiation into the game begins by climbing from the wreckage of a destroyed train dangling ever so precariously from a 1000+ foot drop. Once to 'safety', the game entertains a flashback which takes you to how you even got into this mess in the first place.
On an obscure beach somewhere a plot is hatched to attempt to find a lamp that Marco Polo once had in his possession. This lamp, found in Istanbul, leads to the real adventure and the betrayal of Drakes companions.
Everywhere you turn in Uncharted 2, there's a brilliant scene just waiting to be looked at. Nothing is really dull or uninteresting to look at when travelling through all the places you find yourself in. This includes the company you keep. Throughout your journey you're accompanied by two lovely ladies who either aid you on your way... OR don't... Sometimes, they're the reason you're in trouble in the first place, wink wink.
It's always rewarding to find the little treasures that are hidden throughout the game. I personally haven't found all of them, but then again, they are craftily hidden. This is in of itself worth giving the game at least a second go!
I played through the game on HARD setting and I didn't find it too taxing. I'm not sure if I want to tackle the CRUSHING mode just so I can find all the remaining treasure, but we'll see.
I unfortunately cannot as of yet comment on the multiplayer, but maybe I'll put an addendum on this review once I've taken part in it.
