There is so much depth to this game which causes an extraordinarily steep learning curve.

first a little rant, then i break it down

This game is without a damn doubt my favorite sports game ever made. especially when you compare it to 2009, this game brings reality to the game i.e. 3-5 consecutive solid haymakers from lesnar puts people down no doubt unlike 2009 which would be like 20-30 or more.'

okay so like I said the game has a lot of depth to it. each part of the fight like in real life have different techiniques, and i dont mean in game fighter techniques i mean ur personal handling of the controller. striking game - simple like a normal fighting game 1 button for each hand and leg a low modifier button and hardhit modifier button. timing when to leap in and puting together combos is the real skill behind the striking game

Takedown - this year its much different than last, u treat the grappling on top with the right analog similar to the ground game. different positions alow you to do different moves with fighters, like rashad can do a judo throw even when he's double underhooked. however there is also just the basic shoot that takes a person down which can be countered if spotted soon enough. the skill in the takedown game is timing on both ends for shooting if u counter a shot you can have em in sprawl on the ground and if you counter a throw u usually end up in mount which can be a huge game changer.

see and already with these 2 elements they mix because any time you leave urself open with a bad miss in the striking game a person can easily capitalize and get you down.

Ground game - lastly is the ground game which is by far the most confusing for beginners which often make them believe the controls are **** however i disagree after playing the game and fully learning the control system i must say i applaude thq/yukes. submissions- this can blatantly make and break players, the timing is down to a quarter of a second on reactions when playing with expert players, and on noobs time and time again ull see a frank mir walk up get single colar tie and go into a flying armbar and win at 10 seconds in the round. so ya subs kill some people

this game isnt for the casual gamer, cuz it takes a good 10 hours to learn fully and a good 20 to be decent around 50 to be good on avg

most people will never be as good as som1 else and its evident in this game but when u have an even fight it is the best game on the planet no questions
