Good workout, but hard to plan around and has frustrating reponses on kinect

I did the 60 day workout program on this game and found the following:
the workout program is intense and challenging, I built some good muscle and lost some weight. The problem is, I could have done this without the kinect portion of it.

My biggest frustration was the lighting had to be perfect and my distance from the kinect had to be spot on, otherwise it would miss a lot of my movements and therefore I had to do extra reps, which is ok, but one does not get the "credit" for them and thus does not get a real sense of how hard one actually worked. To add to this, the kinect lost where I was fairly often, so I disappeared a lot on the screen and had to jump around like a monkey to get me back in the picture, all the while the coach has continued with the reps. So in reverse I lost out on reps as well on other exercises.

I also found the length of the sessions too varied. This needs to be evened out because time is precious to us all and we need to be able to plan how long our exercise routines are. Some of the more intense workout sessions lasted one and a half hours! Which is way too long, while others were 15 minutes, so there needs to be some kind of balance here as well.

In conclusion, the exercises themselves are fantastic, but can be done without the kinect and the frustrations that comes with. It's hard enough as it is to stay motivated with exercise, so adding the pains of what this game presents makes it a once off use as opposed to a great ongoing game to gain muscle and lose weight. I am going to use the routines, but not the game with the kinect from now on.
