This game is nothing short of perfect. It is indeed revolutionary, to me at least.

I got this game way back in April 2002 and its effect just never wears off. The visuals are all astounding... Levels, backgrounds, vehicles, weapons, explosions and particle effects, lighting... it's all top-notch and could not be better. You start the game with more than enough unlocked characters to fool around with (you unlock more through Story mode, of course). Some characters are here that have been around through most of the rest of the TM games, such as Outlaw, Axel, Yellowjacket, Warthog, Mr. Grimm, Spectre, Roadkill, etc. However, there are some newcomers unseen before this one: ManSlaughter, Crazy 8, JunkyardDog, just to name a few. They all have their own unique stories to unlock through playing Story mode, which makes you survive through about 8 levels of the game and fighting two boss levels each time (these are included in the 8 levels): Minion and the last level boss, Warhawk. Yeah... the GS review could tell you all that.. I'm just telling you this game changed my life it's so good.
Sony needs to consider following this up with a sequel someday. It's been almost 6 years already! If you like any car combat games or anything like that, go pick this up. The dark feel gives the game a great atmosphere. TM fans should NOT miss this... pick it up once you see it! Once you go Twisted Metal: Black, you can't go back!!!
