First of all the Gameplay is well done and works well with the multi genre style the game offers. It could be polished very slightly but doesn’t hurt the game at all, it’s merely nit picking. The gunplay, driving, stealth, and fighting all play well and are easy to learn and play. The graphics are also great, the city, rooms, and all other places you visit look fantastic. The stages also feature interactive backgrounds, which really add to the fight stages. The character models are also very good looking. The game has a great soundtrack of in with a lot of rap, but some other non-rap style stuff. For example, the final stage’s theme song is the smash hit Minerva by Deftones, which really adds to the final stage. The voice acting is good, but is complimented by awesome dialog. The voice acting features the incredibly talented Christopher Walken as a old time police officer narrating the story and has some hilarious lines for when you lose, like Yo slick, you suck. These lines are even funnier delivered by Walken. Also, little in game lines are the best I’ve ever seen in a game. For example, it’s only a flesh wound and this is my boom stick, are funny and great references to Monty Python and Evil Dead. The games only flaw is that it is a tad on the short side, though it does offer a lot of missions. Also, a cool aspect of the game is multiple stories that change weather you can’t beat a stage, but want to continue and have different options if you can beat a stage. Which is nice if you can’t get past a part and want to try something else and can beat it later. When you get going on this game you’ll end up unlocking all the missions and story stages, because you wont be able to get enough of True Crime. A misconception about this game would be to classify it as another GTA rip off. It really doesn’t resemble GTA at all. The story is cool with an interesting, funny, and original plot in which at one point you end up fighting zombies instead of street trash. One more underrated aspect of the game is the main character Nick Kang. I personally found him very likable and one of my favorite characters ever. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone. One last side note, if you hate rap this game won’t bother you because you can turn off certain songs and on the Xbox you can use a custom soundtrack. So don’t let the rap on the soundtrack scare you away, because it doesn’t hurt the game at all.
