A stoner's frustrating journey

So I kept hearing about a really funny and brilliantly designed puzzle/platform indie game that made a breakthrough in the industry two years ago and I had to check it out. What I discovered after completing Trine 2 is that it lures young gamers into thinking that this is an ingenious game with its mesmerizing graphics. Unfortunately, it is just a flawed game with pretty looks.

Since I am new in HD gaming I found the graphics to be so beautiful; I like to describe as the perfect tripping experience for high timers. Kind of feels like Donkey Kong Country on acid. On the other hand, the solving puzzles part of the gameplay is frustrating as hell. There are no real riddles here, just scattered blocks that need arranging (sometimes by using portals and levels) in order for your characters to side scroll further. In any case these sobering obstacles can be avoided since you have the platforming ability to jump, use the force & ninja rope. The game features multiplayer (online or hotseat) mode.

In this video you can see how frustrating this game can get, when you are trying to cooperate with your buddies in order to progress through the game. This will lead to infinite fights between friends, especially if they are baked.

There are intervals of story which are in narrated text form. Correspondingly, they will be skipped by most in order to get back into the beautiful scenery as if players were stoned and wanted to satisfy their munches as fast as they can. Anyhow, I found the story to be indifferent, cliched and the jokes lame and forced like Maria Bamford's skits. The game is out for 13 euros or 1470,43 Jamaican dollars, if you prefer and it features 13 levels.

If you feel like getting high and putting this on - disregarding the stupid puzzle parts and rather focusing on the graphics and the battles - it can be fun but still isn't worth your 13 bucks. Moreover, if you feel like playing this with your homies and raging after ten minutes in game, then you've stumbled upon the perfect case.
