A definite improvement on the first!

User Rating: 8.5 | Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen PS3
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen surpasses its 2007 predecessor in almost every way. Three noticeable improvements that come with this sequel include:

1) Being able to change the camera zoom.
2) Being able to free-roam.
3) Being able to wage transformer war in online multiplayer.

The camera zoom is something which frustrated me greatly with the first game. You could only have it on one setting and basically all you could see on the screen was a big robot. The absence of any real free-roam play was also something which definitely should have been in the first one, but thinking back, it probably wouldn't have been that much fun anyway. It took forever to climb up the side of buildings, and there was no sense of speed when you were travelling through the cities/other areas. In Revenge of the Fallen, though, you can thrust yourself into the air, travel at enormous speeds, and scale buildings in a matter of seconds. You can really feel the power that these transformers have, and the manoeuvrability of the characters is certainly on a par with great games like Web of Shadows and inFamous – which is especially useful when fighting it out in online multiplayer when you need speed and agility to survive.

Graphics are excellent, as is the story, the variety of weapons, and the wide range of transformers you can actually play as. There's also some nice unlockables for the fans of the original TV show.

Overall, this is a thrilling game which delivers on all fronts. I would give it a score of 8.5/10.
