A great portable version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 that looks and feels like its console counterparts.

What can be said about Tony Hawk games? It came along back in the nineties with tight controls, addictive gameplay, outstanding soundtrack, and it didn't alienate players who know little to nothing about skateboarding. Clearly, the franchise hasn't run out of steam, as this is the third entry in the series, and it is as exciting as ever. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 doesn't bring much new to the table, as far as gameplay goes, but that's alright. What it does bring is the Revert, which is a new trick that allows you to link tricks much easier. In THPS2, you could not continue a combo after coming down from a quarter pipe, so rails were the best way to score big points. With the addition of the Revert, that has all changed, and as you come down from any quarter pipe, you can press the R Button to revert and continue your combo. The game sports great graphics, with bright colors, and well designed sprites. The music in this game is outstanding. Although they are not real songs, there is a wide variety of music to listen to. There are ten tracks, but they all represent different styles of music to appeal to all audiences. There are hip hop themed tracks, one or two that sound very reminiscent of the punk band, Minor Threat. This makes the game much more enjoyable. Along with great music, THPS3 also has outstanding sound effects, that make you feel closer to the action. The game's Career Mode has you go from level to level completing goals to unlock more levels, much like past Tony Hawk games. The goals are usually fun to complete, and range from getting a High Score to bringing a hot dog to a homeless man. There is not money in this game, rather Stat Points you collect in each level, and skateboards to collect. The levels are designed particularly well, and are very memorable. They ultimately represent each level from its console version correctly, and you can even trigger the earthquake in the Los Angeles level. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is a fantastic entry in the Game Boy Advance library, and I highly recommend it to any Game Boy fanatic. With tight control, fantastic sound, music, and game play, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is not to be missed!
