"Forgetting the bugs and slugs, this could have been great"

Rainbow Six Vegas 2,has been sitting collecting dust in my game collection for the past year i believe.I purchased the game,at full price expecting within the hour i would be ordering my men and busting down doors, like i am used to in Tom Clancy's previous releases.Instead i was disappointed to find that it was packed with bugs and after several online forum searches i gave up and put it to the back of the pile.Today i found that they had patches released now,so i installed the game and installed the patches and crossed my fingers.IT WORKED.! The game starts with a pretty cool intro ,and then gets straight into the menu.i personally got a whack in the face by "omg how laggy can it be" i have a pretty standard computer that enables me to run most of the new high end games. It looked good but VERY sluggish.i went to the options and put everything on medium, which helped a bit. Also the motion blur on this game is way too much. The first time i played with all the settings set to default,it looked like i was drunk. The motion blur is massive and leaves a big mark behind everything.Anyway with all that turned off,its not bad at all. With a similar look to Counter Strike. Its Still sluggish but after about 5 min you get used to it and the fun begins..The most noticeable thing i found was the ease in which you can negotiate your team around. There is no big control sequence just to move to the door just point and press the action button(spacebar) and they will be there.Other actions include breach, flash, clearout and disarm bombs.I have only played for about 4 hours ,and only still really getting into the game. One other disadvantage which i found when quitting was,"Do i have to save?" you have checkpoints at certain points in the game, but there is no HUD that says "Saving" so when i was quitting i kinda was half scared because i was unaware if i was going to loose my game.lol nevertheless the game saved. The great thing i think about this game is the ease.Sometimes Tom goes over the edge(so to speak) as to the difficulty of his games, and you feel scared to play the game because of the fear of feeling so noobish, against the hardcore ai.This has a great balance and you can feel like a pro in no time.

I would recommend a good computer for this,as mine is good but struggled.Aside from the bugs, the lag and the strange AI Actions this game is not bad for a weekend tactical thrill.
