Good Game Worth Playing, But Too Many Issues To Be Great.

User Rating: 7.5 | Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 PC
This is a good game for those who enjoy first person shooters. While there are many changes I'd make to the game if I could (which I'll discuss later), over all the game is upbeat, has excellent graphics and smooth game play.

Let's start with the game itself. It's your typical Rainbow Six story, Terrorist want to kill you and there are lots of them. In addition, they have several bombs they will use unless they get a lot of money. While the game has a plot, the story is pretty simple and disjointed, with no real structure. The two head terrorists are Rainbow Six and you're chasing them and the bombs from place to place, killing everything in their wake. They have a very large and well equipped army to support them and of course it's your job to kill everyone one of them; which you gladly do in the name of saving the U.S.A.

There is a large assortment of weapons; my two favorite are the 552 Commando and the 21E Light Machine Gun. I use the Commando for sniping and killing in tight places (very accurate and deadly), while the 21E is a 100 round, crusher, that rips apart anything in the path of the bullets. Then you have your Frag and Smoke Grenades, which come in handy a lot.

The graphics are excellent, one of the most realistic looking and feeling games I've ever played.

This is a good game as I mentioned and I recommend it to those who enjoy first person shooters, with lots of killing.

The biggest gripe that I have with the game is that there is no way to save the game between checkpoints. Often times there are a long period, with lots of dead body's in-between checkpoints. If you get killed or the game crashes (which it often does), you have to start all over again. While some may say this is strategy, excitement and a challenge, I find it annoying, especially when there are so many terrorists jumping out of everywhere. Many times the terrorist are not even there until you reach a certain point on the map and then all of a sudden, three or four jump out at you, shooting and throwing grenades.

The second issue I have with the game is that there is little story or strategy. More or less you're walking from one place to another shooting and killing. The game makers spent a lot of time designing the maps and they did a very good job, as I mentioned, the graphics are excellent.

Another thing is that the game is not very realistic in terms of a real-time battle. You could be in one room where guns are shooting, grenades are exploding and you have a raging battle. You kill everyone, not a single terrorist is standing, glass is broken, walls are blown up. You move into the next room and there are more terrorists, behind a door and they have no clue there has been a major battle 10 feet away. In fact they are having some conversation about something completely unrelated.

I give this game an 7.5 because it does offer a lot of good, smooth game play with good weapons, lots of killing and awesome graphics.

However I won't play another game that does not offer to save the game between checkpoints that are as long as the ones in this game.
