The. Best. FPS. Shooter. Period.

User Rating: 10 | Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon PC
Ghost Recon is a beautiful masterpiece delivered to us by the amazing Red Storm Entertainment. You will not find another game like this no matter how hard you try. Consider the facts. Stealth is always useful, as opposed to the run and gun Call of Duty games. The only time any modern FPS games use stealth these days is in scripted cinematics or when the AI are scripted to have a spotting range of about 3 meters in the middle of the day. Ghost Recon is an extremely flexible and incredible masterpiece, and this is backed up by the number of active players to this day. At ghostrecon.net, mods are still being cranked out by the dozens, all very detailed, high-quality, and show their author's dedication. If you wonder how many people are still playing this magnificient ten-year old game, then look no further than the number of downloads on the 'Frostbite' unofficial fan expansion pack: 20407. Being moddable alone makes the game more enjoyable tenfold, and the quality of the game twentyfold.

It also includes so many little yet urgently important contents that no games have these days, including stealth, moddability, replayability, and flexibility. I am surprised at how many people still enjoy playing the Call of Duty series. Buying a CoD game is very similiar to buying a $60 movie, because the CoD series can hardly be worthy of the title 'first person shooter game'. Today, exactly ten years ago, this beautiful game was born, and for all those ten years, its players have been devoted to her, waiting for a more advanced and detailed game, but it never came, and is now being overcome by the, hopefully last of the series, 'Future Soldier', which is overwhelminglly pathetic seeming, with 3rd person point of view and invisibility cloaks galore.
