If you can look past the hard reviews, you'll actually find a great game.

User Rating: 8 | Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon GC
I am a big fan of Ghost Recon, having owned and played majority of the games in the series. If you give this game a chance, you'll find that it's really fun and worth playing through.

Story - Takes place in 2008, with Russia invading Georgia. I didn't really look at it much back then, but now it's very interesting since it's an almost exact parallel to what really happened with Russia and Georgia this year.

Graphics - Don't expect anything amazing, but it's not painstaking. If you do a side by side comparison to other versions, you will notice a difference (For example, the same level on the Xbox version may have fog in it, while the GameCube version will not). Although it could have been better, they get the job done. Character models, weapons, & terrain look pretty good, though you can visibly see soldiers lagging from a distance.

Sound - The best part of the game. Weapons sound realistic, natural ambiance, and in-game music add a lot to the overall gameplay experience.

Gameplay - If you're not familiar with the series, Ghost Recon is a squad based tactical shooter. You command 6 soldiers divided into 2 teams via a command interface. It takes some time getting used to this, but once you've got it down it's relatively easy. There are 15 missions including hostage rescue, demolitions, infiltration, and more.

Multiplayer - There is a 2 player splitscreen mode. Deathmatch pretty much sucks due to only 2 people playing at a time. The co-op modes are really fun. A notable fact is that during multiplayer, the screens seem flattened, meaning that everything looks as though it has been smashed. But whatever it's still enjoyable.

Overall - If you ever happen to find this, you can probably pick it up used for less than $10. Even though it's old, it's still a great game that I continue to play to this day.
