GRAW with xbox1 graphics, yay!!!

User Rating: 5 | Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier X360
Good grief what has happened to Ghost Recon? GRAW 2, the last outing on the Xbox had some of the most innovative and fun multiplayer experience on Xbox Live. You could have a team of 16 players all on one side with a timed objective against some relentless A.I.

The best achievement you can ever unlock on Live is the 1 hour defend on GRAW2.

This new game has multiplayer no more advanced than a 2002 original xbox game. It is truly shocking how bad it is.

Then we come to the main event; the awful graphics..
Bad art in games comes in many guises, poor design, poor image capture, poor mapping and poor art skills. One of the most basic mistakes ever, and any art college should have weeded this out of the artists, is poor scaling. This is when you take a photo of say 4 inches of snow and stretch it over 10 FEET of metal in-game. The result is an object that looks 4 inches wide, made big. This is exactly what they have done to the robot in the Artic levels. The graphics are considerably worse than Perfect Dark Zero. And that is saying something.

You will also see military cliches so bad they are painful to watch; The good humoured African American in charge (think they stole him from the home front sections of MW2), the discovery of a Russian nuclear sub that the bad guys had a shopping spree in, taking the evil pointy nukes.

The advanced weaponry that is the trademark of Ghost Recon doesn't feel like it's an advantage in this game. We have glowy circles around rifle muzzles; - why? How is that going to help me shoot anyone? It just seems like graphic bling rather than anything that would give you a battlefield edge.

And to think this game was put back a year to add polish. It is clear it spent a year retired on an old hard drive until they bullied somebody to clean it up for packaging. Avoid at all costs.
