Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 is a fun racing game if you spend a lot of time with it.

The main mode in TXR3 is the Quest mode. In the Quest mode you start out by picking a car and then a city to start in: Tokyo, Osaka, or Nagoya. Basically all you do in this game is drive on the highways looking for other drivers and then you flash your headlights to start a race. Every driver is in a gang, and if you beat enough members of a gang the boss will challenge you. Some times even another driver joins in on the boss race and you race both of them. To win a race you have to drain your opponents spirit bar. Their bar will drain when you stay ahead of them long enough and it will also go down if they crash. You can also lose a race if you crash too much and drain all your SP. I think this style of racing is pretty fun, and it gets repetitive but if you put enough time into the game it actually gets pretty addictive. Unlocking cars and parts takes a long time but I like it this way because it takes a lot of work to have a kick ass car. Once you clear all the gangs in one city you can move to another one.

In the quick race mode you can choose a car and a city and weather conditions and cruise around. In the time trial mode you do the same thing but your time is posted between goals around the highway.

I think this is a cool racing game and I recommend it to anyone that thinks Japanese cars and highway racing is cool.
