One of the most unique and inspiring Sega Genesis games!

User Rating: 9.5 | ToeJam & Earl GEN
Toejam and Earl was and still is one of the Genesis' most high quality games.
The game was about two aliens who crash landed on earth and had their rocket ship break into numerous pieces across numerous levels. The best thing about it was that every time you play, the maps would change and the ship pieces would never be on the same level again.

Playing through Toejam and Earl with a friend was one of the funnest experiences. The game allowed for the two players to split up and not be restricted to one screen. When the players would split up during exploration, the game would switch to split screen, and then back to single screen when Toejam and Earl were close together.

There were numerous power ups and weapons to acquire in the form of presents. Presents lie around each level in random locations. You never know what is inside a present until you open it. Then when you get the same box again later, you will know what it is again. Sometimes, you may get an unknown box and it will end up being a randomizer, which will cause all your discovered presents to change, so you won't know what's inside that shiny green box you have been getting all along.

The enemies in the game were pretty goofy and funny. At times, you fight a flock of pigeons wearing soldier helmets and firing tomato artillery at you, or even a flock of nerds. Toejam and Earl can use Icarus Wings, Rocket Skates or even tomato slingshots to evade and fight their way back.

Toejam and Earl is a must play for anyone who has never played the game before. It is very enjoyable alone and much more enjoyable with a friend! Go find those missing ship pieces!! :D
