Thrillville: Off the Rails for ds is only a barren corpse of the excellent console game of the same name.

First let me warn you,if you have a console system and haven't yet played Thrillville on that system...don't play this game..don't even finish this review.Because this portble port keeps nothing that makes the console versions so good.It will only leave a bad taste in your mouth for the other good games. Thrillville Off The rails for ds has a pretty basic premise..keep the parks up and running.But the problem with this is..whether it be a lack of interesting park guests (all park guests either say the park is good or bad..nothing else..and repeat this exact same thing every time you talk to them),or a story that only happens when it is convenient or the nonexistent comedy that made the console versions so enjoyable..the heart,soul,and character of the console titles was completely bypassed.This now leaves you with a lack-luster micromanagement game that doesn't have enough detail or care to bypass others of its genre. Graphically Thrillville is acceptable..a good enough colorful artstyle is suiting for the ds but character models are chubby,childish,short,and only appeal to a particular demographic.The soundtrack is yet another letdown..the only song kept from the originals is the main theme song..all other songs are lyricless generic tunes befitting of each themed area. The one impressive feat of Thrillville is that it has excellent mini-games..while not necessarily ground-breaking these games follow through with typical themepark fare and handles well. Overall there isn't much special about this disappointing port.It isn't a bad game but it is nothing special compared to its exceptional console counterparts.A short enough playthrough will give mild enjoyment but don't expect this game to be the next major thrillville game.
