Thief may not be the most popular game out there, but the fact that it has a small, strong following is promising.
A game where you have to think, be patient, and pay attention.
A world where you can roam freely much of the time.
The ability to sneak, hide, complete a level without anyone even knowing you'd passed by.
Great sound and, for its time, pretty good graphics.
Immersive environments with very well crafted enemies, differing levels of AI in enemies, amusing dialogue... can anyone who can play through this game and not have a new best friend in Benny the guard? He's a riot!
Some people set out to make something exquisite, and some of them actually do.
