All I wanted for Christmas was "The Warriors" to be like Grand Theft Auto. It's not X-mas and it'll never happen.
The warriors may not be a grand theft auto series, but it sure brings the feeling of GTA to the table. Rockstar has done it again but not their best. I'm not sure if RS wanted to make another GTA game but only release a ala "state of emergency" type game then they've done it. Fans of the movie will love the game and those who havent seen the movie will want to.
The graphics are what you expect from rockstar and in our hearts they look fabulous. I wish RS had waited for the 360 to unleash this title. OH Lord the game would have been amazing in the graphics department. RS has literally taken the movie and ported it into a video game. Great Job!!!
I wasn't too excited when I first started playing because I thought we were able to roam the city and go into gang territories like GTA. Unfortunately The Warriors doesn’t offer that type of gameplay. The game is pretty much set for you and your doing missions in order until game is ova. Of course you will be able to play freely in the end but I'm not sure how it all works out. I'm writing you this review after a couple hours of game play. It's well enough game time to write a review. Hopefully I've been proven wrong but it doesn’t look it.
The game pretty much sounds and feels like the movie. WOW, can we say rated R? I'm so glad they used the sounds from the movie and ported it into the game. For those of you who haven’t seen this movie, your pretty much playing it rather then watching it.
Pros:
Similar to grand theft auto, mission based, use groups to fight with you. The fighting in this game is insane, nothing what you would see in GTA. The Warriors is clearly the best hand to hand combat then GTA.
Cons:
Not exactly grand theft auto, you can't roam around freely jacking people, no vehicles to ride and weapons are limited to bats, knives, bottles and bricks. (the movie only had these weapons and warriors always went on foot so that would make sense)
My opinion:
The Warriors is not what I expected out of Rockstar Games. I really felt that it would be more like GTA giving you the freedom to roam around. (Hopefully I'm proven wrong.)

If you’re a fan of video games, get the game.
If you’re a fan of whatever, get the game.
It's well worth the money you dish out for a game. Most games are not worth the dough, but this title rocks on. Don't be disappointed that it doesn’t act, feel or sound like grand theft auto. You have to remember the warriors were on a mission in the movie to get home and that's probably why RS games decided to keep you on a straight path rather then terrorize the neighbor hood.
I still need to play this game more.
