Worth the challenge, if you have the time.

Bart's Nightmare is a game that takes place, obviously within the head of Bart Simpson. The main object of the game, is to get the highest "grade" possible. This is an exceptionally hard task because some of the requirements needed to pass a level are almost unfathomable. When you start the game, Bart comes plummeting to the earth. His life bar consists of zee's that he catches by popping bubbles on them and having the zee land within the confines of the bar. That ain't too hard. If you are running low on zee's the screen will turn cloudy. This means that Bart is starting to wake up, and the game will end.

To move you can either walk, skateboard, or be turned into a frog by Patty and Selma. The latter usually happens when you've been on the skateboard for what the game thinks is too long. Speaking of the skateboard, you can cross the street, dodging mail boxes and cracks. Hitting any of these causes Bart to go skidding out of control right off the screen. In turn, you end up one zee short.

Beware also of Otto cruising down the street. He will make an effort to hit you if you are walking in the road. Another thing to watch out for, is Lisa's saxophone. It blows music notes that will put Bart to sleep. This is another way of catching some zee's. The notes that come down, will also pop the bubbles needed to get the zee's.

To gain the skateboard, you jump over a basketball that is casually walking down the street. That ain't too hard either.

Constantly look for a paper rolling down the street. That's what gets you into the mini-games that are needed to finish the game with a high grade. Pick a door and walk threw. There are several scenarios that can come up. You will end up going to each area twice. Common sense would say that the second time would be harder. But the creators took it to a whole new level.

This game is worth playing, most definitely. If you have the time, willpower, and ability not to throw the controller down at the most inopportune time, then I say go for it!
