WITN is a well-done ARPG that doesn't intend to make any intention of adding to its base game.

I don't know why people are so critical of the LOTR video games, from my experience every one of them is solid, they don't push boundaries for the most part, but they nail the feel and adrenaline of combat and the atmosphere of Jackson and Tolkien's worlds.

If you play this on a PC you'll notice it was engineered for consoles much like Return of the King, but without the combos and button-mashing of sorts.

When people do play online, it's a blast, but it requires a party of 3 who are willing to do some waiting in towns for players to repair and exchange equipment, there's plenty of loot, and socketed items to upgrade.

The 3rd person camera can be a bit awkward, yet it's tolerable and acceptable, and the game is relatively bug-free, contains 3 difficulty levels with adequate loot rewards, 40 character levels (that take time) and a lot of great, cinematic combat.

I much prefer the experience of playing as 3 specific classes at a time, versus 4-5 of any mix (i.e. Diablo 3).

The artwork and graphic fx are underrated, huge vistas and spot-on Jackson LOTR detail are everywhere, the resolution on PC's takes a hit though due to its console-aimed engineering. But I love the graphic fx, very solid.

A nice assortment of skill trees, replayability, great presentation, balance and challenge, it's one of the most underrated ARPG's I've ever played.
