EA gives you LOTR Battle for Middle Earth which is a great RTS and expands on the LOTR triology with ambition

There are many LOTR games out there but none are better than the Battle for Middle Earth (BFME) series. LOTR BFME 2 is a great game with some flaws but for LOTR fans and RTS strategists, this is a Must-Buy.
The first LOTR BFME was great. I completed the Evil and Good campaigns many times over and it was all fun. I thought no LOTR came could be better but then I installed LOTR BFME 2 and wow I got a shock! It was amazing. Unlike the first game, you can actually create your own hero, something the Star Wars game all lack.
The Create-A-Hero option is really good as you can create anything from a iron armoured Dwarf to an Elvin ranger to a Mordor Troll. Name your heroes, choose their powers and play your heroes in intense battles alongside other LOTR heroes like Boromir, Gandalf and Thanduil. As your hero kills more enemies and destroys forts/buildings, their stats increase and they earn rewards.
LOTR BFME 2 basically as a Skirmish battle mode where you can play either as Men, Dwarves, Elves, Goblins, Mordor or Isenguard. Each faction has a variety of unique units and buildings. Unlike the first game, LOTR BFME 2 comes with the 'War of the Ring' feature which is like a game of Risk but LOTR on the computer. Its great fun and allows you to really understand Middle Earth and its territories. You can also choose to play the Good or Evil campaigns which are both pretty hard or go online.
The soundtrack for the game is brilliant. Of course, it all comes from the LOTR but when you have 2 huge armies battling, ents charging, eagles flying and wizards chanting, the soundtrack builds up and it becomes all epic and memorable. If you liked the soundtrack and music in the films, you'll love it in the games.
The only flaws and cons in the game that I can think of are that there is definitely a limited amount of armour and weapons that you can use to create your hero. The company should have made more weapon and armour and customizable options when creating a hero to make them more unique and legendary. Another flaw in the game is that each faction has a limited rather amount of troops. Sure, each faction has a unique unit or 2 but it would be great to have more unique units and a less command point limit.
Overall, this game is fantastic and you'll never forget it if you're a LOTR fan or have played the first LOTR BFME game. I recommend this game. (LOTR BFME 2 Rise of the Witch King is already out and is even better than LOTR BFME 2 but in order to play it, you need to install LOTR BFME 2)
