A Battlefront-esque game that is fun for the first few large scale, epic battles.

User Rating: 6.5 | The Lord of the Rings: Conquest PS3
LOTR Conquest plays like Battlefront in that you choose from 4 classes to spawn as and if you are the best player of the match, you are rewarded with the chance to play as one of the Heroes or Villians whether it be Aragon, Gandalf, Sauron or Balrog.

Each class has a set of unique moves. Warriors can use fire swords to either do an area of effect attack, break someones block or travel fast for a few seconds. The archers can use fire and poison arrows and can hit multiple enemies at once. Scouts can turn transparent and can throw bombs or do an instant kill move. Mages can use chain lightning, two area of effect moves and heal allies.

During battle you are also able to ride a mount, use trolls or ents, fire catapults and use defence emplacements.

Although is sounds fun, it is only fun for the first few large scale, epic battles. The combat gets repitive quickly and there are some very cheap ways to die. Some example are getting pick up by an troll, ent or bird, falling down somewhere and travelling outside of battle.

This game is based for online play mainly but when online, the battles are always one sided. The main reason is because the game characters are unbalanced. Mages execute high damaging moves able to hit several enemies and they can heal themselves. Scouts are more or less useless because when they turn transparent, people can still see them because of the blur around them. Trolls and Ents are annoying to kill because the have heaps of health and do damage equal or more than that of a mage.

The graphics are average but the music however is nostalgic as it has the same pieces from the movies.

Overall, a game that is most likely made for LOTR fans like myself.
