Uninspired and ugly

User Rating: 4.5 | The Incredible Hulk PS2
I won't write a full review of this game, since I haven't played it to the end yet.

I was really looking forward to this release but boy, what a disappointment!

The graphics look horrible and flat. Visual elements keep repeating themselves over and over again from the very beginning of the game. For example the city: no matter how far you roam around, all you get is dozens of identical taxis and garbage trucks (4 garbage trucks on one street, really?) and identical looking pedestrians (maybe 3 or 4 different. The total amount of different vehicles may be 4 or 5 at the most. The buildings all look like huge boxes painted with the same brick or concrete texture. Punching at them just creates a momentarily cheap graphic effect (you know, like it's breaking) for a few seconds like in those old 3D shooter games, like Duke Nukem.

The controls seem to be in the same category of the graphics engine. Hugely uninspired moves and nothing really cool. One specially horrible thing is jumping: no matter how gentyl you press the button, the Hulk just manages to bounce off in whatever direction without any control.

Overall, a typical mediocre movie spawn with nothing new to offer. Very much like the horrible Iron Man game.
